For the sixth consecutive year, Holy Cross Hospital was once again recognized with the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association Get with the Guidelines Stroke — Gold Plus Award (2010-2015). The award recognizes hospitals that demonstrate at least 85 percent compliance in each of the seven Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Achievement Measures and 75 percent or higher compliance with five of eight Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality Measures. In addition, we were also recognized with the Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll, which recognizes the hospital for meeting quality measures developed to reduce the time between the patient's arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster tissue plasminogen activator, or tPA, the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat ischemic stroke. The different levels reflect the amount of time for which the hospital demonstrates performance:
Bronze: performance of 90 consecutive days.
Silver: performance of 12 consecutive months.
Gold: performance of 24 consecutive months or more.
The Plus Award is an advanced level of recognition that allows hospitals to be acknowledged for their compliance with the Quality Measures within the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Program.
